Gameplay
Story
You are a professional art thief working for an anonymous buyer. You have to compete with other art thieves to continue getting more jobs. The goal of the game is to make it through all the rooms of the museum without getting caught by either the guards or the security devices. Points will be awarded for the amount of things that are stolen and how quickly the level is finished.
World
“Sneaky Bandits” is situated in a museum, wherein each room has a different theme visible through the objects and decor. You begin in the basement section of the museum and must progress through the ascending levels to get to the end. This first section is similar to a tutorial level, where you can learn the different controls and weapons. Each room in the museum represents a different level in the game and you must reach the top in order to escape (by grappling down the side of the building).
Flow
To progress through the game, you will need to move through single levels with obstacles and puzzles within each one. Once one level is complete, you move onto the next one, and each becomes harder than the last. They will progressively have more puzzles and more guards or defenses. The game is based on a linear path model and individual scores are given after each level, however a final score is given at the end.
Controls
The game will be played on a touch screen phone that is flipped lengthwise (landscape) and there will be as few buttons on the screen as possible. The player will be controlled by a d-pad on the bottom left, where the left and right buttons will control the movement in the x-direction, and the up and down buttons will control the z-direction, causing you to move farther away from or closer to the front. There will be two other “action” buttons located on the bottom right side of the screen, one to control the jump, the other to access your active tool (grappling hook by default). To pause the game, and access the main menu, there will be a small central button on the bottom of the screen.
